Where are you going when you die?

It might not be an easy question to think about. Are you aware that you can know for absolute certain what will happen to you after you pass on? If you don’t know where you’re going to end up after you die, or if you do know and it scares you, then I encourage you to read on.

1: Did you know that you’re a sinner?

Romans 3:23 tells us “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God”. All means all of humanity, including me and you!

2: Did you know there’s a penalty for sin?

Romans 6:23 says “For the wages of sin is death…” So just like there’s a price to pay for every crime, the justice of our holy and righteous God demands a punishment for sin. Revelation 20:14-15 continues to educate us on what punishment awaits: “And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.”

3: Did you know someone has already taken your punishment?

Romans 5:8: “But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.” God sent his only son, the only perfect man to ever walk the face of the Earth, to die for you and me. Justice requires a payment that we can’t pay, but God sent his only son, the only one who could pay it, to take our place!

4: Admit you are a sinner.

Now that you know just who you are, you need to confess to God that you are a sinner! Believe on the Lord Jesus, and his atonement for your sins through the blood he shed for you. “…how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures” -I Corinthians 15:3-4

5: Accept God’s gift of salvation!

You know you’re a sinner, there’s a punishment for that sin, Someone already took that punishment,  you’ve admitted you’re a sinner, so the only thing left is to ask the Lord Jesus Christ to come into your heart and save you! Romans 10:13 sums everything up with this simple statement:

“For whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved.

Whosoever means YOU

See, sin is the crime, Hell is the sentence, and eternity is the time. Sinning is part of who we are. Even though we all were born into sin, and we sin every day, God still loves us! So much, in fact, that he would send his only begotten son to die for you!
All you have left to do is ask God to save you!

If you aren’t sure how to pray, it’s very simple, here’s what you might say:

“Dear Lord, I’m a sinner, but I believe that you died in my place on the cross to pay for my sins. I believe you rose again on the third day, and I accept you as my personal Saviour and ask that you to come into my heart and save my soul from Hell. In my Saviour, Jesus’ name, Amen.”

If you want to accept Jesus Christ into your life, all you need to do is pray something like this. There is no magic or mysticism and you don’t need to pray this exactly, God only wants you to speak to him earnestly and honestly in the best way you know how!
